1. T: In my family, I have a tiger mom. She doesn’t allow me to do this or that. But I think I should be allowed to do many things. Do you agree with me? In your eyes, what should we be allowed to do? Share your ideas with your group members.
2. Ask some students to share with the whole class. (Review the sentence pattern- we should be allowed to do sth.)
3. T: We think we should be allowed to do many things. But mom always says No to us. Why does mom say no to us ? (students begin to think about mom’s love and tell their understanding)

Task1. Listen and read the poem.
Listen and follow the tape and discuss what the title means. Task2. Read part 1 and answer the following questions. 1) When the writer was a baby and two, what did his mom do ? 2) When the writer was two , what did he do?
3) Is it safe for a 2-year-old boy to run through the field? What did his mom do ?
Task3. Read part 2 and answer the following questions. 1) Why did his mom say no ice cream for him?
2) How did the writer feel when he was not allowed to eat ice cream ? 3) What did the writer do when his mom told him it’d give him awful dreams? 4) Why did the writer shouted to his mom? 5) Did the writer feel his mom’s love?

How quickly time flies! It has been more than 10 years since you were a baby. You are growing up while your parents are getting old. They have done so much for you that you can grow up happily and healthily. What have you done for them? Did you do anything for them? Babies, please say ‘‘thank you’’ to them and tell them how much you love them . Please do something for them!
