摘要：The invention discloses a device for trapping and eliminating tree-attackingcaterpillars as they move down to the ground after leaving the nest in the treetops. Thedevice of the invention comprises a ring-shaped piece (1, 13) with an open top section,which forms a receptacle (7a, 7b) wherein the caterpillars can be trapped when they entersaid receptacle (7a, 7b), said ring-shaped piece (1, 13) being positioned around the tree,appreciably concentrically to said tree. Said ring-shaped piece (1, 13) can be positioned atthe base of the tree or attached to its trunk (6b) at a certain height. The receptacle (7a,7b) that forms the ring-shaped piece (1, 13) is filled with a fluid so that the caterpillars, ontheir way down, enter said receptacle and are trapped in said fluid, where they drown.
