The way people spent their holidays changed a great deal from 2000 to 2006. As is drawn in the table, people’s preference changed a lot for a series of subjective and objective reasons.
Seeing that our living standard improved greatly during the six years and our income kept increasing, more and more people came up with the idea of going abroad to spend their holidays. But contrary to this, people who chose to go to the beach reduced by 7% according to the table. Unfortunately, the reason behing such a fact was that the sea was seriously polluted by all kinds of chemicals and other poisonous waste. On the other hand, the table also demonstrates that climbing mountains and camping was gainging more and more popularity among people. It is not surprisng that it would incrase from 11% to 34%, taking the lead among all kinds of ways to spend one’s holidays owing to people’s consciousness of leading a healthy life. To have a close touch with nature and breathe fresh air on the top of mountains, it is no wonder that so many people make such a choice.
