Praise other people
TJ理工 晓爷 英语作文
Praise is like sunlight(阳光) to the human spirit(精神); we cannot flower and grow without it. Teachers agree about the value(价值) of praise. One teacher writes that instead of drowning students' compositions(作文) in critical(批判的) red ink, the teacher will get far more constructive(建设性的) results(结果) by finding one or two things which have been done better than last lime(石灰), and commenting(批评) favorably(顺利地) on them. Behavioral(动作的) scientists have done countless(数不尽的) experiments(试验) to prove(证明) that any human being tends to repeat(重复) an act(行为)which has been immediately(立刻) followed by a pleasant(愉快的) result. And yet, while most of us are only too ready to apply(应用) to others the cold wind of criticism(批评), we are somehow(不知何故) reluctant(不情愿的) to give our fellows(人) the warm sunshine(阳光) of praise.
To give praise costs the giver nothing but a moment's thought and a moment's(片刻) effort-perhaps(努力) a quick phone call to pass on a compliment(称赞), or five minutes spent writing an appreciative(有价值的) letter. It is such a small investment(投资)--and yet considers the resets(重新设定) it may produce(农产品).
Therefore(因此), let's be alert to the small excellence(优秀) around us--comment(评论) on them. We will not only bring joy into other people's lives, but also, very often, add happiness into our own, namely(即), praise gladdens(使喜悦) the hearts of both the giver and the receiver(接受者).
