Workers at the world’s largest hydroelectric plant(水电站)show they have a head for heights as they get to work. But these brave workers at the great Three Gorges Dam insist their job is nothing out of the ordinary, although there is the heart-stopping scenery below them.

Making sure electricity is safely transported (运输) across the tall power lines to the rest of the country in not an easy task. These brave workers cross high above giant rivers, regularly working at more than 650 feet in the air when they work. Ho Ku, 39, is one of the workers who do the job, insists it’s just another day in the office when he gets started. The dam was built across the Yangtze River in the Chinese city of Zhongxiang. It produced an unbelievable 85 terawatt-hours of power last year-- enough to power the whole of the UK for about five months. And the project managers expect even more to be produced this year.

The local power company has some skilled workers responsible for the maintenance(维护) of more than 300 electricity towers that carry power from the dam and supply local need. The company does checks to look for problems every year, especially in spring when workers require a total of 10 days to visit each of the huge towers and check the cables(电缆).

A company spokesman said at that time a total of 338 towers would be serviced. The electricity tower run across rivers and valleys and transport hydroelectric power.
