DESCRIPTION

CD40109Bcontainsfourlow-to-high-voltagelevel-shiftingcircuits.Eachcircuitwillshiftalow-voltagedigital-logicinputsignal(A,B,C,D)withlogical1=VCCandlogical0=VSStoahigh-voltageoutputsignal(E,F,G,H)withlogical1=VDDandlogical0=VSS.

TheRCA-CD40109,unlikeotherlow-to-highlevel-shiftingcircuits,doesnotrequirethepresenceofthehigh-voltagesupply(VDD)beforetheapplicationofeitherthelow-voltagesupply(VCC)ortheinputsignals.TherearenorestrictionsonthesequenceofapplicationofVDD,VCC,ortheinputsignals.Inaddition,withoneexceptiontherearenorestrictionsontherelativemagnitudesofthesupplyvoltagesorinputsignalswithinthedevicemaximumratings,providedthattheinputsignalswingsbetweenVSSandatleast0.7VCC;VCCmayexceedVDD,andinputsignalsmayexceedVCCandVDD.WhenoperatedinthemodeVCC>VCC,theCD40109willoperateasahigh-to-lowlevel-shifter.

TheCD40109alsofeaturesindividualthree-stateoutputcapability.Alowlevelonanyoftheseparatelyenabledthree-stateoutputcontrolsproducesahigh-impedancestateinthecorrespondingoutput.
